Hi friends and family! We are excited to connect with you once again and we hope this update finds you encouraged! It is hard to believe that it is already November and has been 5 months since our last update! It has been a whirlwind of a summer (and Fall), but we are encouraged, growing, and full of hope amid all that God has done and is doing in our lives. We have some exciting news to share with you!
First, we want to thank each of you for investing in our lives. We are so thankful for the incredible community of people (near and far) that God has surrounded us with. Thank you for praying for our family and staying in touch with us as you are able. We are grateful!
In our last update we shared about an opportunity we had with an organization called Marriage Plus. The Lord provided the finances for us to be apart of an internship with Marriage plus over the summer. We met with a group of married couples throughout the summer and were discipled by the founders of the ministry. We are thankful for the experience and believe it has better equipped us to minister to couples. During this time Grant had the privilege of doing premarital counseling with a young engaged couple and even officiated their wedding! Thank you to those of you who prayed for us and gave towards that internship!
Since our last update, we have added a new little member to our family! Eliyanah Jordan Ryder was born on September 28th weighing 8 lbs 1oz and measuring 20 inches. It is hard to believe that she is already 7 weeks old, but we are loving every day with her and are so thankful to God for the gift she is to our family. She is so sweet, so wiggly, so smiley, and her big sister (Rae) loves her!
Along with the birth of Eliyanah, we are also excited to announce that Grant was made the Community Pastor of our church – Stapleton Church! Grant worked hard this summer to go through the licensing process and in August, he was officially approved by the elders of our church and licensed as a new pastor! We are excited about this step and believe that it is further confirmation of where God is continuing to lead us!
We hope to send out a more detailed update about this in the coming weeks, but we wanted to give you a brief glimpse into our future plans and the exciting path that we believe God has us on. After much prayer and conversation, we believe that God is leading us to plant a church in the Reunion area of Commerce City, Colorado! Reunion is located just northeast of downtown Denver and about 10 miles from Denver International Airport. We are currently living in this area and have been amazed at the growth that it is experiencing along with the need for healthy, established churches. Although many more houses and neighborhoods are in the process of being built, there are currently over 50,000 people living in Reunion with only two established churches within a nearby vicinity. As we have encountered these realities and become more familiar with this area, we have sensed the Lord impressing on our hearts the conviction that Reunion needs the Gospel and needs a church that is willing to be a true reflection of who God is within a growing area that does not have much of a Gospel presence. As we have sensed this pull from the Lord, we have begun the assessment process with a church planting network called Converge and have the backing of our current church to keep moving forward in this direction.
We don’t have a specific timeline yet nor do we have all the answers as to how it will ultimately work, but we desire to step out in faith and watch God lead us, provide for us, and ultimately build His church in this part of the Denver area. As we prayerfully seek the Lord and follow His lead, we ask that you please join us in this endeavor by praying for our family and seeking the Lord to go before us. Please refer to the “Prayer” section of our website for more specific details as to how you can join us in prayer moving forward. We are so excited about this and look forward to updating you with more details very soon!
Other than this, life has been great and stretching and we are continuing to adjust to being a family of 4! Rae is two years old now and growing so fast! She has such a fun and sweet personality and loves her little sister! Leah is enjoying the opportunity to stay at home with the girls while Grant grows in his pastoral responsibilities and does carpet cleaning on the side. We love our Church community, are blessed by great friendships, and continue to thank the Lord for where He has our family. Thank you for your prayer and encouragement and we look forward to updating you again very soon!
